Mira-4 Mira N. Mataric (Mirjana Radovanov), was born in Novi Sad, lived in Beograd (Serbia), later Kansas and California, in the United States of America. She holds a Ph.D. in linguistics and world literature. She is an active poet, writer, translator, and interpreter. Her translations of modern American, English, Irish, Indian, Swedish, Serbian and other poetry and prose (John Steinbeck, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Kamala Das, Edna O'Brien and others), along with her own poetry, stories, memoirs, and reviews have been published in the leading periodicals of Serbia and diaspora, as well as numerous publications in North America, Europe and Asia.

Living in the USA since 1982, she has taught English, Russian and Creative Writing. An avid writer, public speaker and organizer of writers' workshops and seminars, she has built cultural bridges between the Serbian and English speaking worlds, continuously present in the Serbian, English and American literary world. Mira has received several awards for poetry (From the USA and England) and a prestigious literary award for her life time achievement in building cultural bridges (as a writer and translator)between the Serbian and English speaking worlds: "Arsenie Charnoevih", Beograd 2005, by the Ministry of Diaspora of Serbia. Mira was awarded the "Golden Medal" by the Association of Culture and Education for her life time contribution to the development of art and culture, in Beograd, Serbia 2007. Her work has been translated into English, Serbian, Rumanian, Hindi, Swedish and French.
